Welcome to the South Liverpool Residents Network

This website was setup in order to inform the residents of Garston Village and the surrounding areas, of a proposal to site a massive waste recycling plant in the heart of our community, and to fight that application.

The original proposal has been withdrawn but Jack Allen Holdings Have now reapplied.

Approximately 5000 objections were made to the council planning department against the original proposal. These will now no longer be taken into account with regard to the current proposal.

One of the Major impacts of a proposed waste plant of this kind is the serious increase in lorry traffic it necessitates, thus we originally called the website www.notothelorries.com - it was our hastily got together answer to the surprise and shock of the original application last year.

We are again fighting the proposed siting of such a plant in the heart of our community which is a predominantly residential area.

We are determined to do our best to fight the new application and the attendant marketing and public relations that went before it and with it.

Our fight now goes under the banner of South Liverpool Residents Network - www.southliverpoolresidents.org.uk

All six local Liberal Democrat and Labour Councillors as well as Member for Parliament for Liverpool, Maria Eagle, have come out strongly against this proposal.

The new plans do not address the core concerns the community has over a huge waste treatment plant being sited in the heart of our residential community.
